2010 LakeWalk Thank You!    Thank you to all our walkers, sponsors and donors. Please accept our sincere congratulations on a labor of the love well done.  2010 LakeWalk was a beautiful day, and not just because of the weather.  We had 2,634 walkers join us at Fowler Park in Oconomowoc.  The patients of the Regional Cancer Center at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital thank each and every one of you! We are working to update LakeWalker individual and team totals.  In the meantime, online and offline donations remain open through May 27. Walk to care, Walk to cure.

Cancer is a part of life for many in our community.  It will touch more than two out of five lives and about one out of every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.  Cancer accounts for one of every four deaths in the United States.  LakeWalk has been organized to help change these statistics. 

The money raised at LakeWalk stays here to benefit patients at the Regional Cancer Center at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.  Net proceeds from your participation, the pledges you raise and the support of LakeWalk sponsors helps fund patients' inclusion in national clinical research studies established by the National Cancer Institute.  These trials offer access to the most advanced, clinically approved treatments available.  Patients' participation also helps us find solutions to the causes of cancer and improve cancer outcomes.  LakeWalk also funds other supportive services that help patients through the challenges related to a cancer diagnosis.  After just six years, the LakeWalk for Cancer has contributed nearly $590,000 to our wonderful Regional Cancer Center at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.  The Regional Cancer Center uses that funding to offer their cancer patients what is truly world class care close to home.

In 2010, the Regional Cancer Center at OMH celebrates its 10th anniversary!  Please support the 2010 LakeWalk for Cancer to help our neighbors,  friends and family with cancer and show our appreciation for this vital community resource.
