About the Foundation

Background

Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt public charity founded in 1976.  Gifts to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital are channeled through the Foundation.  The Foundation has touched thousands of lives through its more than $16 million in grants to the Hospital, funding health care initiatives, research, capital projects, and state-of-the-art technology.

Responsibilities

Governed by a dedicated, 25-member board of directors that blends community representatives from the Hospital, health care professionals, and public, the Foundation strengthens support for the Hospital by promoting giving, managing endowment funds, managing disbursement of funds to assure that donors' gifts are used as they intended, thanking and recognizing donors in keeping with their wishes, and ensuring observance of any and all charitable-organization legal requirements.

Current focus

Over the next few years, the Foundation's focus will be to help provide resources to assist the Hospital in its development of its Centers of Excellence: Heart Center, Women's Center, Musculoskeletal Institute, Emergency Department, and its 5-star rated Regional Cancer Center.

This effort will include involvement in the renovation and enhancement of facilities, support for special programs that not only increase and expand patient care, but aid in the retention of doctors and nurses, and building an endowment to provide income for future funding requests.
