Support for the ProHealth Care Research Institute

The volume and complexity of clinical research conducted at ProHealth Care has dramatically increased over the past decade. A combination of factors has driven this evolution including an increasing interest in applied research opportunities among ProHealth Care physicians, movement of research activity from traditional academic to community-based research centers, and a shift of federal/industry research funding to community-based research sites. In the process, ProHealth Care has become recognized, both regionally and nationally, as a leading center for clinical research in several areas of specialized medicine.  A robust array of research activity now exists in several areas of the system, while other areas are poised for a greater research concentration in the near future.  Based on the significant increase in scientific activity at ProHealth Care, the Research Institute was developed to provide system-wide oversight, management and advancement of research at ProHealth Care.

Our Plan:

Building on the tremendous success of clinical research programs already being conducted at ProHealth Care as well as recognizing the increasing opportunities and challenges in the field, ProHealth Care has established the ProHealth Care Research Institute.  The Research Institute is advancing ProHealth Care’s growing leadership role in medical research and our reputation, both locally and nationally, for medical excellence, sophistication, and responding with excellent service, respect and compassion.

The ProHealth Care Research Institute’s key responsibilities are:

  • Researcher Support & Development  - assisting with project development, identifying and securing funding resources, and supporting all aspects of creating a successful research program.
  • Scientific Advancement - providing support services for PHC researchers to drive an efficient workflow of research productivity beyond direct patient studies, including grant writing, statistical analysis support, and production of professional publications.
  • Grants and Contracts Administration - assisting with all aspects of grants and contracts management including identifying funding sources, providing support in the application process, and negotiating and managing funding.
  • Research Safety and Integrity - providing a comprehensive Human Research Protection Program to ensure the protection of the rights and welfare of subjects in human research.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Setting policy and procedures to streamline the efficiency of the research process, while ensuring compliance with all sponsor and regulatory guidelines.

Fundraising Goal:   $1 million to help support the ProHealth Care Research Institute further expand the breadth and scope of clinical research available to patients and physicians at ProHealth Care.
