Wills & Bequests

When you create a will, you have the ability to determine how your assets are distributed at your death to the individuals and charitable organizations of your choice.

A bequest may be in the form of cash, securities, real estate or other property.

How can I remember Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation through my will or living trust?

  • Designate a specific percentage of your estate to the WMH Foundation through your will
  • Leave the residue of your estate (that which remains after other specific bequests have been made) to the Foundation

What are the benefits of putting WMHF in my will?

  • Charitable giving at your passing is favored under our tax laws.  The entire amount of the charitable bequest is deductible for estate tax purposes, without any percentage limitations.
  • * The most useful type of bequest is unrestricted.  However, if a donor has a specific area of interest, we highly encourage talking with us beforehand to ensure we can honor his/her wishes.

How can I find out more?

Because some kinds of assets are taxed differently at death than others, and because this can have a sizable impact on bequests left to one's heirs and to charity, we encourage you to contact your financial advisor.   Or for more information please contact Nancy Seidl Nelson.
