National Wear Red Day is coming Feb. 5, 2010. But it takes just one person to start Wear Red Day on
any day of the year. Let that person be you! Consider organizing a Wear Red Day at your workplace, with your faith-based organization, at your community center or even in your own home. Speak up. Inspire your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family members to show their support for the fight against heart disease!

Go Red for Women: Heart Healthy at Any Age

Heart disease continues to be the number one killer of American women, yet research shows that heat disease is largely preventable. Join us for our annual ProHealth Care women and heart event to learn how you can combat that statistic and be heart healthy at any age. American Heart Association National Go Red for Women spokesperson, Jennifer Engel, will present an empowering message followed by Cardiologist, Richard Staudacher, M.D. who will highlight ways to take charge of your heart health no matter what age you are! Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Smart 4 Your Heart, four simple ways to easily manage your cholesterol, by ProHealth Care Dietitian, Margaret Pfeiffer, MS, RD, CIS (made possible by the Waukesha Memorial Hosital Foundation). Grocery Store Tours — Improve your heart health
Walk the aisles of a local grocery store with a registered dietitian as you learn to select heart-healthy foods from every section of the grocery store. Learn how to choose lean cuts of meat and discover a variety of fresh produce. You get cooking tips and hints along the way, too.
Heart Failure Support Group
Open to anyone with heart failure, family members, friends and caregivers. Meets the third Thursday of every month, 4 – 5 p.m. at Waukesha Memorial Hospital Heart Failure Clinic.
Heart-Healthy Eating Plan
This two-session class will help you make confident decisions about lowering cholesterol through dietary changes. Taught by a preventive cardiology registered dietitian.
