Habits that Natasha formed years ago may be shaping her health now, but she is ready to conquer them once and for all - for the healthy years to come.
It has dawned on Natasha Sanders-Beavers that she could be at risk for cardiovascular disease. Her mother has a history stroke and both her mother and sister battle high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes.
"I love these ladies but forgive me for not wanting to join the club. Change in my life is necessary to prevent me from going down that road," she attests.
Natasha, 39, is devoted to her four children and loving husband, but says she has never worried too much about her health and taking care of herself. But now, as she is approaching 40-years-old, she sees the results of years of unhealthy eating habits.
Her goal in participating in the Go Red for Women Makeover is to adopt a healthy lifestyle that she can pass on to her family and friends so that they can live long-healthy-lives together. She says this challenge will provide her with solid ammunition to fight this battle, and conquer unhealthy habits once and for all.
"I Go Red for myself, my entire family and for all of the important women in my life. I don't want this to strike me as it did them."
