Public Invited to Cancer Prevention Fair

Free Screenings and Information About Healthy Living

 

 WAUKESHA, WI – ProHealth Care invites the public to attend a free Cancer Prevention Fair from

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, 725 American Ave., Waukesha.

The Cancer Prevention Fair will include screenings and healthy living information to help reduce the risk of cancer and aid in early detection. Free onsite screenings for qualified participants will include mammography, Pap tests and colorectal screening. Healthy lifestyle information such as recipe demonstrations, food samples and exercise demonstrations will also be available, along with information on tobacco cessation and skin cancer prevention.

Free transportation is available to and from the event for qualified participants, with pickups in East Troy, Palmyra, Jefferson City and Johnson Creek. 

People of all ages are welcome to attend. To register for this event and for free transportation, please call the Cancer Information Line at 262-928-7878 by Jan. 27. Registration is required and screening appointments are limited. 

This event is made possible through grants awarded by the National Cancer Institute’s Community Cancer Centers Program, the Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation, as well as through a cooperative agreement between the American Psychological Association and the Centers for Disease Control’s Division of Cancer Prevention and Control.
