PHC Transportation Services

Throughout the years, ProHealth Care has provided transportation services that are safe, accessible and affordable. Additionally, to make our services as accessible and convenient as possible, both Waukesha and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospitals have provided "free" valet parking and escort services. No other hospital or health care system in the area provides this level of service.

Although we plan to continue these transportation services to our community, we have had to modify our ProHealth Care transportation program in order to reduce the substantial expense incurred in providing it. As a result, there will be a $7.50 one-way ($15 round-trip) charge assessed per trip beginning on May 1, 2009. 

It has been our pleasure to provide this service over the years, and we want to assure you that the same service that transports you to your medical appointments with ease will still be available. The only change is that we will now have to charge for that service.

For your reference, here are important transportation services guidelines to keep in mind:

  • The procedure for scheduling transportation services remains unchanged. Arrangements for transportation services within our service area (map.pdf) must be made at least 48 hours in advance through your care-provider or central scheduling personnel.
  • Before scheduling transportation services, your care-provider or a scheduling agent will determine if you qualify for transportation services by asking questions, such as whether you have any other means of getting to/from your medical appointments.
  • No cash or checks will be collected by the ProHealth Care drivers.
  • Each passenger will be billed $7.50 per one-way trip ($15 round trip). At the end of each month, each passenger will receive an itemized invoice for transportation services provided within that specific month, mailed to his or her home address.
  • Sometimes a client may require multiple visits to a ProHealth Care facility within the same month. In these cases, a client will be charged a maximum total of $120 (equivalent to 16 one-way trips per month).
  • Transportation appointments not canceled at least 24 hours prior to the appointment date will be assessed a $7.50 one-way trip charge.
