Like any good lawyer, Bill did his research.

When 47-year-old Bill Domina, Chief Legal Council for Milwaukee County, recently found out that he had prostate cancer, he couldn't help but think of his father. You see, Bill was 14 when his father died of that very thing. And coincidentally, Bill now has a 14-year-old son of his own.

When he was 14, his father died of prostate cancer. Now he has prostate cancer and his son is 14.

"I watched my dad die of this thing, and I was determined to have a different result." So he talked to guys that had prostate cancer. He interviewed radiation oncologists and decided his best course of action was daVinci robotic prostatectomy surgery at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

"Once I got past the Star Wars idea of a robot operating on me, I was interested in the robotics -- if I could find someone with enough experience," Bill said. His research pointed him in the direction of Dr. Brian Butler, associate medical director of ProHealth Care's Center for Prostate Care, who had done more than 150 robotic procedures.

"The last thing I remember before going under was when all the technicians and everyone in the operating room laid their hands on me," Bill recalls. "It was very comforting . . and exactly what I needed."
