When Victoria Doudna was diagnosed with breast cancer, her whole family helped research her options.
And what did they discover? That her best treatment option was right in her own backyard at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
"I really like the interdisciplinary approach -- a whole team of doctors -- it was like getting a second, third and fourth opinion." Led by Dr. Richard Hansen, medical oncologist, Victoria's team of specialists —including her radiologist, surgeon, radiation oncologist, pathologist as well as her 12 brothers and sisters — chose a treatment plan that was best for her.
That was in 2005 and she is now a cancer survivor. For Victoria, and most women, early detection is key and mammography remains the single best way to detect breast cancer.
