ProHealth Care offers a variety of services to support patients throughout cancer treatment and beyond. Talk with your doctor to decide if any of these services are right for you:
Our dietitians are specially trained to support the unique nutrition and dietary needs of patients with cancer. Dietitian services are available at no cost.
While cancer treatment can effectively attack cancer, it can take a toll on the body, causing fatigue, pain and physical problems. Maintaining energy and an active lifestyle throughout cancer care is the key to enhancing recovery during and after cancer treatment. Our cancer rehabilitation team provides therapy that helps reduce the effects of cancer and treatment, and improves quality of life.
Services are available on an outpatient basis.
Classes and Events
Many different classes, specially designed for patients with cancer, are available. From Beat Cancer Yoga and Beat Cancer Bootcamp, to healthy eating classes and meditation, you’ll find many helpful resources to support you throughout your cancer care.
Review the cancer section of our Classes & Events page for the latest offerings.
In partnership with The Children’s Treehouse Foundation, we offer the Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery (CLIMB) Program. CLIMB is a six-week program designed to support the emotional needs of children who have a parent or caregiver with cancer.
Counseling and Support Groups
Our licensed professionals offer free one-on-one counseling, facilitated support groups, meditation, workshops and grief services for cancer patients, survivors and their families at all three of our cancer care locations: Pewaukee, Mukwonago and Oconomowoc. These sessions focus on the psychological, social and emotional support needs of patients and their loved ones.
ProHealth Care also partners with the American Cancer Society to offer support groups and programs.
Massage therapy can enhance healing, and reduce swelling and the formation of scar tissue. ProHealth Care’s state-certified massage therapists offer therapeutic and relaxation massage to address specific health and wellness needs.
At the UW Cancer Center at ProHealth Care in Pewaukee, our retail store offers a variety of products and services, including compression stockings, sleeves, gloves and garments; mastectomy bras and camisoles; head covers, scarves and nightcaps; and jewelry. We also assist patients experiencing hair loss with complementary head shaves, custom wig fittings and other beauty services.
Social workers support patients and their families throughout cancer treatment and are a key part of the cancer care team. They can assist with a variety of issues, including financial concerns, insurance coverage, transportation and short- and long-term disability, as well as helping patients find additional community resources.
