ProHealth Care's United Way Day of Caring

8 to 9 a.m.   -   Campaign training & breakfast

9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.   -   Volunteer experience

All ProHealth leaders are invited to enjoy a morning of volunteering at various United Way organizations in our community. Day of Caring will begin at 8 a.m. with campaign training and breakfast. Participating leaders will have the option to gather in the Treiber education center at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital, ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital or at our campus in Mukwonago.

New this year, volunteer opportunities will be available in all three communities. To register, choose one of the following options:

 

Oconomowoc:

Gazebo Facelift - YMCA at Pabst Farms

Help sand and stain the YMCA at Pabst Farms' pergola and gazebo.  

Mukwonago:

Born Learning Trail - Miniwaukan Park

Freshen up the Born Learning Trail with new stencils and tree planting at Minimwaukan Park

Waukesha:

Fall Clean-Up - The Women's Center

Roll-up your sleeves to do some light maintenance and cleaning before winter arrives! Projects may include window washing, blind replacement, and deep cleaning of group areas.

Bowling with Seniors - The Caring Place

Spend your day socializing with older adults and enriching their lives in a fun and meaningful way.

Increase Curb Appeal - Sixteenth Street

Help beautify the outdoor space of the Waukesha Community Health Center.

Call Bank - La Casa

Call low-income senior citizens, and others, to inform them about how they may receive services from La Casa de Esperanza during tax season. Many of these households desperately need their tax refunds to pay utility and medical bills, and cover other basic needs.

Sprucing Up - La Casa

Help spruce up the new Center for Financial Stability by assisting with landscaping, painting and window washing.

Beautification - Catholic Charities

Beautify the grounds by assisting with landscaping, pruning and weeding.

Harvest and Field Prep - HOPE Center's Green Power Garden

The Hope Center provides a safe environment for the homeless and other clients in need. Have fun harvesting late crops and preparing the fields for next year.

Table Building and Light Cleaning - Parents Place

Help assemble tables, clean toys and tidy up play rooms at Parents Place.

Staining - Hebron House

Help stain tables and benches donated to the Hebron House.

Yard Cleanup - ERAs

Travel around Waukesha County, to the homes of three elderly adults, to assist with Yard Cleanup. This group will be expected to spend 50 minutes at each residence and is responsible for transportation between the three sites (Wales, Waukesha and Brookfield).

9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.   -   Volunteer experience

If you are unable to make the September 20th Day of Caring event, you have the opportunity to participate in the back-up date to. To register for a volunteer experience on September 25, choose one of the following options:

 

Sorting Clothes - HOPE Center

The HOPE Center's Clothing Shop provides free clothing to Waukesha County residents in need. Help sort donated clothing and get the items ready for shoppers.

Holiday Giftwrapping and Card Creation - NAMI

Design and create cards, prepare treat bags and wrap presents. Volunteers are asked to bring wrapping paper and treats for the goodie bags.

Grounds Work at Camp Whitcomb/Mason (Hartland) - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee

Spend your morning grooming trails, painting and planting at this camp located in Hartland.
