Advanced Practice Provider
Physician assistants have advanced clinical training and are members of a treatment team that provides comprehensive care for women with gynecologic cancer. They provide a full-range of services including assisting with pre- and post-surgical care, managing pain, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and coordinating long-term follow-up of patients in remission undergoing surveillance programs. They also educate patients regarding ongoing survivorship issues such as long-term toxicities, sexuality and other issues.
"I have enjoyed focusing my career on working in women's health. I feel it's important to listen closely to patients so I can provide education about their concerns and discuss treatment options to help them optimize their health."
Sharon enjoys spending time with family and friends and outdoor activities, especially biking, hiking, canoeing and snowshoeing.
