Student positions offer progressively more responsibility to build skills and confidence and help compliment the classes and clinical assignments offered by Bachelor and Associate nursing programs. These positions allow students a way to grow their practice toward becoming a graduate nurse with the support and experience offered by a world-class organization.

CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at ProHealth Care work closely with our patients. CNAs are responsible for performing activities of daily living (ADLs) as well as providing other bedside cares in a variety of settings. CNAs are a very important member of the patient care team at ProHealth Care. Students interested in starting their nursing careers in a fast-paced environment where personal accountability, compassion, and a positive attitude are all necessary should consider a position as a Certified Nursing Assistant at ProHealth Care.
Qualifications include:
- Certified (CNA) in the state of Wisconsin is required
- Previous experience is preferred
- Possess basic computer skills
- Ability to meet the scheduling requirements year round
ProHealth Care employs full- and part-time CNAs on a variety of shifts meeting the needs of our patients.
Licensed Practical Nurse / Patient Care Assistant
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), also referred to as Patient Care Assistant, provides nursing care under the supervision and delegation of a registered nurse in both hospital and clinic settings. Typical duties range from performing ADLs and carrying out patient care plans in the hospital setting to the collection of health histories and assisting with minor procedures in the clinic setting. This position is great for students who have chosen to receive their LPN license to gain more experience in the field before completing their Associate's or Bachelor's nursing program.
Qualifications include:
- Licensed (LPN) in the state of Wisconsin is required
- Previous experience is preferred
- Possess basic computer skills
- Ability to meet the scheduling requirements year round

Nurse Intern I
Students interested in increasing their responsibilities while continuing to care for our patients may qualify for a Nurse Intern I position. A Nurse Intern I is a member of the nursing team that performs patient care duties and works with the Registered Nurse team to prioritize the overall patient's care. A Nurse Intern I will document and notify the Registered Nurse team of changes in a patient's condition with the goal of developing a plan of care.
A Nurse Intern I has the ability to develop relationships with all levels of care givers at ProHealth Care including the medical staff, patient care team and ancillary care departments that are integral to providing our outstanding care. Students looking to further develop their communication and leadership skills along with fine-tuning their assessment and judgment abilities should consider a position as a Nurse Intern I.
Qualifications include:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and have completed at least one medical/surgical clinical
- Must be in good academic standing
- Ability to provide one letter of recommendation from a clinical instructor at time of hire is required
- Must provide evidence of ongoing enrollment in nursing program by providing transcript of grades at time of hire and at the end of each semester for review
Nurse Intern II
Student nurses progressing through their school clinicals and looking for additional responsibilities should consider a role as a Nurse Intern II. Working hand-in-hand with a Registered Nurse, a Nurse Intern II is able to practice much of what is learned in school-related clinicals at ProHealth Care. Prior to graduation, the Nurse Intern II is able to collaborate with a Registered Nurse to administer medications and perform other patient care duties. Additionally, the Nurse Intern II duties help to prepare a student for the graduate nurse position at ProHealth Care.
Students progressing to the Nurse Intern II role receive a comprehensive orientation on the unit where they will work. ProHealth Care also offers a dedicated nursing orientation to individuals in the Nurse Intern II role through our education division. Students attend this week-long orientation during their summer or winter break, prior to joining the unit.
Qualifications include:
- Must be a Senior nursing student enrolled in an accredited school of nursing
- Must be in good academic standing
- Ability to provide two letters of recommendation from clinical instructors at time of hire is required
- Must provide transcript of grades at time of hire
- Documentation of acquired competency in medication administration (per nursing program)
- Ability to demonstrate Nurse Intern I competencies
