What is ProHealth Care?
ProHealth Care is one of the most advanced community-based health care systems in the country. We are locally owned and offer a full range of services, from fitness and wellness services to primary care and specialty care, hospital care, rehabilitation care, home and hospice care — and more. We’re dedicated to serving residents of Waukesha County and surrounding areas with the highest quality care to promote a healthier community.
What is the ProHealth Care Foundation?
The ProHealth Care Foundation was formed in 2012 by joining the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Foundation and Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation. Both foundations had a strong tradition of philanthropic support throughout Waukesha County, and we will build on that tradition as we continue to focus on the health of our community.
What are the advantages of joining the two foundations?
By integrating the two foundations, we centralized all ProHealth Care fundraising initiatives. This allows us to realize internal economies of scale and place a focus on cost-effective philanthropic gift development.
What does this mean to me as a donor?
The ProHealth Care Foundation remains committed to donors, ensuring that every gift is directed to the program or entity of your choosing. As a donor, the only change you’ll see is our name. Our commitment to you and the communities we serve remains constant. The Foundation will continue to focus on the health and wellness of our community, including special outreach projects that may arise.
How will this affect the foundation boards at each hospital?
Both the Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation boards have formally approved this integration. A new board of directors has been formed with representatives from both former foundations.

May I still restrict my gift to a specific program or fund?
Yes. You may designate gifts to ProHealth Care to support system-wide initiatives or to any related entity. If you wish to support a specific program or hospital, you may restrict your gift to support that program or entity, just as you always have.
What does this mean for the ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer?
The three ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer have enjoyed a long history in the communities of Waukesha, Oconomowoc and Mukwonago. The Walks will continue to take place in each of these three communities in the years ahead.
What if I want to give to one hospital?
You may. If you prefer to support a single hospital or another ProHealth Care entity, you may designate your gift for that purpose. Your gift will be deposited into a separate fund for the purpose you designate.
What will happen to existing endowed funds?
Endowed funds that have already been established for a specific entity or program will continue to be used to support that facility or area of care.
How does this change impact the community?
The integration allows further collaboration among our staff and streamlines the fundraising process. As a result, we can do more — and raise more — in support of programs and initiatives that benefit the communities we serve.
Where will the Foundation be located?
The ProHealth Care Foundation retains a presence at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Waukesha Memorial Hospital and AngelsGrace Hospice, with staff available to assist you with gifts to any entity.
