ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness Center installs 18 pieces of high-tech exercise equipment

ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness Center has installed 18 new pieces of aerobic exercise equipment at the medically based fitness center in Pewaukee. The new equipment offers the latest technology in rowing, climbing and treadmill machines.

The new equipment:

  • Six new Concept2 indoor rowers with advanced real-time heart rate monitors and on-screen games that guide your rowing pace and strokes, bringing the total number of these rowers at the center to nine.

  • Eight new Life Fitness Integrity treadmills, each with its own television and iPod and iPhone docking station with connections to popular fitness software apps, bringing the total number of Life Fitness treadmills to 19.

  • Four new Life Fitness PowerMill Climbers with large steps, a wide range of speeds and connections to fitness apps.

“Rowing is a total body strengthening and cardio workout,” said Anne Barber, fitness coordinator at West Wood. “It’s a low-impact exercise that has been growing in popularity. The legs, upper body and core are all involved. People of any age and ability can benefit from it because they can set their own pace and level of resistance.”

West Wood is adding new 45-minute group rowing classes to its schedule beginning June 26. The classes will feature a blend of rowing and cardio-based interval exercises.

Barber said the new treadmills and climbers — which are popular with fitness enthusiasts — have sleek new designs and the latest electronic features.

The new equipment brings to 70 the number of pieces of aerobic equipment at West Wood.

ProHealth West Wood Health & Fitness Center is located at 2900 Golf Road in Pewaukee. To see the class schedule and register for classes, please visit www.WestWoodFitness.org/Classes-Programs.aspx. For questions, please call Anne Barber at 262-513-7209.
