ProHealth Care’s heart health event to feature nationally known nutrition expert Ellie Krieger

Ellie Krieger, the host of Food Network’s “Healthy Appetite” and Public Television’s “Ellie’s Real Good Food,” will be the featured speaker for ProHealth Care’s free 2019 Heart Health Event in February.

Krieger will speak on “Ten Simple Changes for a Heart Healthier You,” providing practical advice on how to approach food in a more balanced way, make low-sodium dishes more flavorful, and eat at times that are most beneficial for health. Recipes and food samples will be shared during the program.

“Eating well can seem overwhelming. Sometimes you just don’t know where to start,” Krieger said. “Focusing on easy changes can add up. You don’t need to deprive yourself – you can have food that’s both incredibly tasty and healthy.”

A registered dietitian, Krieger was instrumental in former First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign and led a nutrition education initiative at the White House. She also is an award-winning author of five cookbooks and a food columnist.

The 2019 Heart Health Event is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at Milwaukee Marriott West, W231N1600 Corporate Court in Waukesha. Attendees will have the opportunity to talk with dietitians, fitness professionals and physicians and receive health screenings before the presentation. The screenings will be for blood pressure and body fat.

The event is free but registration is required. Register at ProHealthCare.org/Classes or by calling 262-928-2745.
