GPS Navigation for Shoulder Replacement Surgery
Feb 21, 2019
Scott Schneider, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon
GPS navigation uses a CT scan to create a 3D model of a patient's shoulder. The technology allows a surgeon to magnify and view the model from various angles, and try different implants and positions to ensure the best fit. The ProHealth Orthopedic Care team was the first in the state to use personalized guided surgery for standard, reverse and stemless shoulder replacement, enhancing the view of surgeons and precision and accuracy for patients.
