According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States for men and women. In 2008 approximately 150,000 new cases of colon cancer will be diagnosed and there will be approximately 50,000 deaths from this disease. Most colon cancers do not produce signs or symptoms until quite late. Colon cancer is one of the few cancers that can be largely prevented by having a screening colonoscopy.

At Waukesha Memorial Hospital's GI Center, we are committed to providing comprehensive endoscopic services through a team effort, addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and economic needs of our patients. Our Center includes experienced physicians and nurses who strive to provide the excellent care you deserve. We have 24 private rooms and eight procedure rooms. Many of our nurses are certified in GI nursing. We provide state-of-the-art equipment and offer most GI procedures available.
