ProHealth Care's Multiple Sclerosis Clinic provides multiple sclerosis management, education and clinical research. It is one of the leading centers in Wisconsin, providing innovative infusion therapy for MS patients and participating in clinical trials designed to advance the understanding of MS and its treatment.
ProHealth Care partners with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to provide the most advanced health care, educational programs and community services to individuals with multiple sclerosis. In fact, ProHealth Care's Multiple Sclerosis Clinic is just the fifth clinic in Wisconsin to have a formal affiliation with the National MS Society.
The MS Clinic's full range of services is designed to treat patients in all stages of MS, addressing their emotional, psychological, social and physical needs, including:
Our team approach – Under the medical direction of Stanya Smith, M.D., board-certified neurologist, the MS Clinic team includes a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Nurse and practices a multidisciplinary treatment approach. This means patients have access to specialists in various disciplines, including neuropsychology; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; and pain management.
Clinical research – ProHealth Care's MS Clinic is one of a select few clinics authorized to administer Tysabri, one of the newest drug therapy treatments available for MS patients.
It is also serving as one of only two national test sites for a clinical study on using fMRI to evaluate the neurologic and cognitive changes in people with multiple sclerosis. Other clinical trials are also available to MS patients.
ProHealth Care's MS Clinic is offered at two locations: at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and in the Oconomowoc Physician Center.
