In fact, we were the first, comprehensive, multidisciplinary prostate care center in Wisconsin and is one of only five cancer programs selected to participate in the Association of Community Cancer Centers' (ACCC's) Prostate Cancer "Best Practices" Project. The Regional Cancer Center was chosen as as a "model" program for its multidisciplinary approach to prostate care, open communication and patient access to state-of-the-art treatment within the community. We offer many specialized services not found anywhere else.

Each patient's care is coordinated and administered by a team of specialists. A dedicated care coordinator makes the journey easier for patients, guiding them through all aspects of diagnosis and treatment.

Urologic surgery, including minimally invasive prostatectomy, which reduces the risk of post-surgical impotence

Leading technology
- The Center for Prostate Care was one of the first sites in Wisconsin to offer the da Vinci® Surgical System for robotic prostatectomy. Robotic prostatectomy offers some patients the benefits of less pain and faster recovery. To date, our experienced team has performed hundreds of these high-tech procedures.
- CyberKnife® is a very precise form of radiation treatment that attacks tumor cells while minimizing injury to healthy tissues surrounding the tumor. CyberKnife ® can be an option to treat prostate cancer.
- We were the first cancer center in Wisconsin to offer the BAT system - the newest technology available for improving prostate cancer radiation treatment.
Clinical research programs
Our patients have access to clinical research specific to prostate cancer. In fact, the Regional Cancer Center was also recognized in 2007 as one of the most successful community-based oncology clinical research programs in the country for enrolling a record number of patients in cancer clinical and prevention trials.
ProHealth Care's Center for Prostate Care was chosen as a "model" because it 1) empowers patients with information and knowledge about choices, 2) matches the prostate center program to identified needs in the community, 3) coordinates multidiciplinary services starting with diagnosis, and 4) collects standardized treatment outcomes data. The components, amung others, are critical to the success of prostate-spacific cancer care programs.
Team approach to care
Our physicians meet weekly to discuss individual cases and carefully consider the best treatment options for each patient. This gives you a second, third and even fourth opinion that represent a variety of critical specialties.
