November 17, 2008
Press Ganey, a national leader in patient satisfaction measurement, has awarded the Emergency Department at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital the 2008 Summit Award for patient satisfaction - a distinction achieved by consistently sustaining an overall rank above the 95th percentile in the Press Ganey patient satisfaction database for three consecutive years.
The department earned this coveted patient satisfaction award through excellent patient care, compassion, respect and communication across the board - often achieving 99th percentile.
"The Summit Award acknowledges the success of our mission at OMH ED and the emergency physicians and staff who work there," says Timothy J. Hill, M.D. F.A.C.E.P., medical director of OMH ED and president of Lake Country Emergency Physicians. "This award proves that the efforts our team has made over the years to meet and exceed patient and family expectations are recognized and appreciated. This recognition reflects the compassion, comfort, respect and care we offer our patients."

The Summit Award, Press Ganey's most prestigious designation, is extremely challenging to attain, according to Mel Hall, president and CEO of Press Ganey. "Each winning facility must achieve and maintain the extraordinary. Recipients of the award truly set themselves apart from the competition by demonstrating their dedication to improvement and sustaining excellence in both quality of care, as well as employee and physician satisfaction."
The three-year timeframe for the 2008 award is August 2005 - July 2006, August 2006 -July 2007, and August 2007 - July 2008. Summit Award winners were formally recognized on November 17th at Press Ganey's National Client Conference in Dallas.
