Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital Emergency Department Achieves Highest Honor for Patient Satisfaction Two Consecutive Years

ProHealth Care announces that for the second year in a row Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department has been named a Press Ganey Summit Award winner - a distinction achieved by sustaining an overall rank above the 95th percentile in the Press Ganey patient satisfaction database for three consecutive years. Recipients of the award must demonstrate their dedication to improvement and sustaining excellence in both quality of care and employee and physician satisfaction.
"The Summit Award is one of Press Ganey's most prestigious honors and is extremely challenging to attain," says John Robertstad, CEO of ProHealth Care's Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. "Last year, of the 7,000 health care organizations in Press Ganey's database, only 14 hospitals received this award for emergency department services, and Oconomowoc Memorial is the only hospital in Wisconsin to achieve this distinction."
Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is a 75-bed acute-care hospital located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The emergency department cares for approximately 22,000 patients annually.
For more than 20 years, Press Ganey has been committed to providing insight that allows health care organizations to improve the quality of care they provide while improving their bottom-line results. Press Ganey currently partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities - including over 40 percent of U.S. hospitals - to measure and improve the quality of their care.
The 2009 Press Ganey Summit Award winners were formally recognized at Press Ganey's National Client Conference held November 16 - 18, 2009 in National Harbor, Maryland.
