When referring a patient to orthopedics of Wisconsin or other places, it should be your responsibility to find out if the insurance covers the procedure first before sending people to these places.

Patients should not be treated/seen by PA's instead of MD's. PA told me I needed BP medicine and a statin which created anxiety for me. My primary on a follow up appointment confirmed the medication recommended by the PA was not needed.

Everything was explored concerning my 5th rib fracture that was crossing a great deal of pain. Recommended things to help give me some relief.

After a surgery my blood pressure was very high. Got in to see "someone" the next day. The provider did not take steps to ask about why I was there. Did not read the previous notes on my condition. Made me feel that It wasn't urgent to come In. My readings were well Into 200/88 the day before It was high at the office visit. The MA said she'd be back after my visit with the doctor to take another reading. The doctor dismissed me (after prescribing meds and with direction to return for nurse visit for another reading in two weeks) when I asked about another reading. The doctor did to herself and it was still high, but no comment from her other than it was still high. My husband was with me during the whole time and we both came away feeling confused, unheard and dumbfounded! When I called to schedule my follow-up reading I asked if I would be charged for this s my understanding was I or my insurance would not. The scheduler said I would because I had to make an appointment. When I said I didn't think that was right she transferred me to billing. Billing said she believed I would not be charged. Now I had two different answers! I mycharted my question and the nurse said she checked with the (dept manager?) and said for just a blood pressure follow up with the nurse it would be n/c. Why are you'd I get two different answers? Why did the PA not show consideration for my problem and be prepared for my appointment? I would welcome an opportunity to speak with management about the issues surrounding my appointment.

Julie Amtmann listened very carefully to all I had to say. She was very understanding and gave me very good advice. She gave me a very Informative After Visit Summary.
