Philosophy of care

"As an oncology nurse practitioner, my goal is to help patients continue to live their best life while under going cancer treatment. I support them by managing their symptoms, providing emotional support and educating them so that they can feel their best and continue to participate in what brings them joy in their life. The connections with patients is the reason I enjoy working as a nurse practitioner."

My experience with Dr. Katie Asmus always enables me to understand my health conditions and all the ramifications of them. She also helps me understand what to expect as to medication side effects. Suggestions how to live through them are helpful in my being able to maintain as good a quality of life as possible. Katie is also intuitive as to my emotional needs and addresses them effectively. Katie also works in concert with all my other doctors as a strong leader enabling them all to accurately take care of my needs specific to their specific medical practices.
