About me

Philosophy of care

"I believe the best approach to cardiovascular disease is a proactive evaluation of a patient's risk profile and aggressive modification of those risks. This will help keep patients without heart disease from acquiring it and help those with heart disease to return to their families and active lifestyles with minimal disruption. Through a combination of healthy lifestyle choices and modern technology, we can offer cardiac patients a long and healthy future."

As my cardiologist, Dr. Burns (who performed my heart catheterization four months ago) and his staff have been caring, encouraging, thorough and personable in managing and monitoring my rehab status. For this, I am truly grateful.

Automatic door openers in the office area would be very helpful while pushing a wheelchair in and out. It's not always easy for one person to maneuver the situation. Also railings in the hallway would be helpful for people with Walker's. It is a cardiac care floor, so I think this should be something that you should address.

Dr. Burns has always been friendly and does a thorough exam. I see him once a year for heart check. He looks Into My Chart for medical Information to see what has been going with me. He ask questions and explains things.

I am extremely thankful for the care I have been given by the staff, nurses and both Drs. Burns and Coffey. I feel very fortunate to have had such kind, caring and gifted professionals taking care of me from the moment I walked into the ER to the day I was wheeled out. I have experienced the same high quality care during my post-hospital office visits as well.
