Philosophy of care

"I believe if I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way. Because a neurological diagnosis can have a major impact on a person’s life, I think it is important for patients to be involved in all aspects of their care. For me, this begins with listening and understanding their concerns and goals, and developing a plan with them that allows for the best quality of life possible."

There was an issue with me not being checked in by a new person who was training. We were waiting over 45 minutes before I went up to see what was going on. The situation got escalated but the Manager was able to step in and assist and my provider was gracious enough to see me even though they marked me down as a no show. Kudos to the Manager and the Provider, the Reception staff could use some additional training on how to approach these situations with tact. Some of that team handled the situation well and some did not. Overall I left feeling heard and valued by the provider.
