About me

Philosophy of care

“I work closely with our therapists to provide clinically-proven treatments for anxiety disorders and depression to minimize their impact on people’s lives. I routinely recommend cognitive behavioral therapy, but will also prescribe medication when appropriate. I have three goals during therapy — to have patients function better, to use medications only when necessary, and to discontinue medications when they are no longer indicated.”

Honestly - I go in, and it's like: He doesn't understand me? He speaks very little. I have no clue how to respond to what he does say. I feel uncomfortable. He's been... my medication which has only made me worse. He refuses to let my dad in to my appointments. Apparently I can't see a therapist unless I go to a partial hospital program? Why?

I stayed at Waukesha Memorial Hospital recently, and hope I am surveyed on that experience.

I don't really feel like this specific provider is the best fit for me, I feel like I'm struggling a little more than in the past and not everything we are doing is fitting into my lifestyle.

I don't have issues with this visit. The unknown entity of my healthcare team is a source of frustration as they imply that I need to lose weight and that they persist in using outdated medical information about me. This is a result of my having an outside provider as my primary care physician. Something their system appears to be quite unhappy with. And which had limited importance in this era of hospitalist care.
