About me

Philosophy of care

"The beautiful thing about family medicine is the ability to go beyond the basics of what makes a person healthy or not healthy. I strive to build relationships with all of my patients, from the young to the young-at-heart, allowing for the discovery of what is important to each individual. Together, we will create a plan to help them reach their healthiest life possible."

Dr took her time going over issues.

She listened to me even when I started to second guess my need for the appointment. She never brushed aside how I was feeling. She took my concerns seriously even when I could not easily describe what was going on.

I am wondering why the e-check questions are repeated by the medical assistant in exam room. I thought echeck was to save everyone time.

For an annual physical, I was surprised at what was not included. I thought maybe we would talk about General health, like exercise, etc., and I thought maybe they would look in my ears and my throat, feel my abdomen, breast exam, etc. None of that was included, and that surprised me. I'm not sure if I was treated differently because I am postpartum. It was a nice visit, a student saw me first, and then my doctor, and they are both great to talk with, but they seemed to follow my lead and didn't seem to check anything that I didn't mention. The questions about the front desk clerks are irrelevant because we don't use the front desk clerks anymore, there is a kiosk.

Having to switch providers in the past year was a bit difficult given we loved our prior dr. & were long-time patients. Dr. McDearmon is a WONDERFUL switch! We are very happy with her.

I have found a health care "home" with Dr. McDearmon and her staff. The clinic is run well. Organized and clean.

I am happy with this location. Receptionists could smile more to make it seem like they want to be there and are happy to help. They are professional and polite. I just feel a smile goes a long way to making someone feel welcome.
