About me

Philosophy of care

“I chose to practice dermatology because of its interesting mix of different types of medicine: primary care, surgery and microscopic work. Dermatologic conditions often have a significant impact on a person’s comfort, self-esteem and overall quality of life, and I enjoy helping patients address those issues. Because dermatology is such a visual field, one can easily see patients improve, and it is very rewarding to see the positive impact that improvement has on their lives. Thorough care, open communication and patient education are key elements of my practice. When patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options, they are empowered to more actively participate in their care.”

This doctor is not my primary doctor. I see her 2x a year for a full body scan. She is a dermatologist. Beside her I have seen at least 3 different physicians for various reasons.

Dr Miller is a good Dr. She is just very quick. This last visit with her I felt very rushed. I learned more from her summary on my chart than I did from the office visit.

Dr. Miller is a knowledgeable dermatologist. I have been seeing her for years. However, she can be short and in a rush during office visits. I wanted to ask her to check a previous area where she removed a precancerous spot even though I was there for another reason. She seemed to be in a hurry and I was not able to ask her to check the area. Her appointments have to be specific and she usually will not check or do more than what the appointment is for. It is very difficult to get an appointment with Dr. Miller also. I received an email that it was time to schedule a routine body check and I had to wait 2 months. I know how Dr. Miller is and I will continue to see her for now, but I would like to be rushed and able to ask questions and have the questions answered.

Dr Miller's assistant was reviewing my records when I first arrived and what I currently use for meds/OTC, and she confused all of that with what I'm using for the current issue that I went in for (acne). Most appointments, everything currently being used and for what, is reviewed. Instead, she thought I was referring to this new issue of acne. Dr Miller was rash coming in because she needed to clear this up; which was fine. I'm all about getting to the point. Once Dr Miller worked with me and left, the assistant came back in with the sheet of instructions for new meds/OTC for this new issue of acne. She didn't do well spelling it all out; what do I get from the pharmacy? What do I get for OTC? I was confused and basically had to read the sheet myself to understand what Dr Miller wanted me to do, which I did not appreciate. This has been the only negative experience I've had with Dr Miller and/or an assistant with ProHealth. I'm assuming the assistant is new and learning but then Dr Miller should have come back in to explain the plan for my skin because this assistant needs more training. I hope this feedback is helpful for the next patients coming in.
