About me

Philosophy of care

"Like other areas of medicine, neurosurgery is a form of art that starts with understanding patients and their neurosurgical issues, and then guides them along the best path toward healing. This often requires a collaborative approach involving multiple specialties and is unique for every patient."

Dr. Parmar's office got an appointment faster than I thought possible. I am very grateful and feel that I definitely made the right decision in choosing the Spine Clinic at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. All staff and doctors very respectful and kind, and everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand.

Compared to the substandard treatment I received at a nearby Spine Clinic, my treatment at the Neuroscience Center was stellar. The surgeon and his staff were professional, respectful, and attentive to me. I came prepared to my appointment with a written list of my symptoms, their duration and severity, and a brief history of each one. (I'm a physician.) We then were afforded the time to pare down the most acute issues and the necessary steps to move forward. My preparation also gave us some time to get to know each other better and begin to form the basis of a healthy doctor/patient relationship. He was friendly and interested in me which goes a long way. I recommend highly that patients receive a questionnaire before the initial appointment. If they do already, then I'm disappointed that I didn't get one. I can't speak to the doctor's skills in treatment planning, surgical precision, or aftercare involvement. Please send me a follow-up survey to measure these. I noticed that patient reviews of this doctor consisted mainly of his personality, how they were treated, how comfortable they felt with him. The missing piece was how he ultimately helped their pain and whether or not the surgery was successful.
