About me

Philosophy of care

"Like other areas of medicine, neurosurgery is a form of art that starts with understanding patients and their neurosurgical issues, and then guides them along the best path toward healing. This often requires a collaborative approach involving multiple specialties and is unique for every patient."

He was able to explain my condition and talk about treatment options in a way that made sense to me. I was very stressed prior to the appointment and left with a plan.

Dr. Parmar was fantastic, I couldn't have hoped for a better outcome from my surgery that he performed.

Waste of time, nobody listens. Just want to send me around to someone else, and someone else, and someone else and bill a hole in my pocket and not diagnose anything. For 9 months, I've been in pain and now all I've got is a bill and more pain.

Felt unheard an pushed to the side and rushed to finish appointment. Got more I don't know answers than answers that were complete and thoughtful. Within 2 minutes of sitting down he said there was nothing he could do for me. No followup questions were answered and he didn't know the extent or even when my injury happened. Seemed very disorganized and unwilling to help or listen.

Dr Parmar is an excellent physician and surgeon. Very caring and understanding. Explained everything extremely well. One of the top doctors I've had over the last 40 years!

The doctor saw me in a reasonable timeframe and referred me to a doctor in Madison. He knows the surgeon and I was able to see this doctor in 2 days. Very impressive. I felt like I learned a lot about my medical issue and confirmed that I needed surgery which was not the opinion of my neurologist but that's not meant to sound vindictive. She isn't trained in colloid cysts. I will say I used ChatGPT before I met with the neurosurgeon and it correctly predicted I would need surgery. Despite this I was going to cancel my appointment with the neurosurgeon based on my MRI. My wife wasn't convinced I needed the surgery also but she wanted me to keep my appointment to hear first hand that my brain cyst wasn't the cause of my balance issues so she was also wrong. The neurosurgeon at UW confirmed I need the surgery. To be clear I do think my neurologist is very good and I'll continue seeing her.

Excellent experience with all staff at ProHealth! My very first call to ProHealth was for a rare post-surgical complication from a surgery that occurred over 20 yrs. ago in a different state. If ProHealth staff hadn't recognized the urgency & acted quickly, I could be dead by now. The ProHealth staff scheduled my initial visit/pre-op testing/new PCP visit/surgery incredibly quickly.

Dr. Parmar got me through my first major surgery. He and his staff were respectful, accessible, and helpful. I'm on my way to recover after a successful back surgery I was fearful about.
