About me

Philosophy of care

“I was drawn to practice oncology for many reasons, the most important of which is the special relationship that develops between the patient, his or her family and the physician. I believe each patient’s mind and spirit needs to be considered along with the physical body. I am committed to helping a patient make choices in keeping with his or her goals and values, and I strive to deliver leading-edge cancer care with compassion.”

I think Dr Raftery is the best doctor I have ever had.

I had to wait until an extra test was copleated on the blood already drawn tithe day prior because it was not ordered or completed when I came in for the iron infusion, then I had to wait about an hour before the iron infusion could be started. I was very disappointed when I discussed with the doctor the need for a sleeping pill that I could use, because I have not been able to sleep through the night and it has become a problem. She was very condescending and said that she would not prescribe the pills because of what she has read. I felt that my concerns were not addressed. this experience has made me want to switch to a different physician.

Usually good experience with this provider and staff.

We feel the wait times are way too long for this physician. We, as patients, are asked to be there 15 minutes before an appointment, so we comply. She did not come into the exam room until 45 minutes after the appointment start time.
