Cancer social work support

Cancer social workers help patients and families adjust to a diagnosis, access resources, manage stress and find support throughout the cancer journey.

Practical support for everyday challenges

A cancer diagnosis can affect many parts of your life and extends beyond medical care. Our cancer social work team helps patients and families navigate practical concerns that may arise during treatment and beyond.

Social workers offer guidance, support and resources

A cancer diagnosis is overwhelming. That’s why ProHealth Care makes cancer social workers available to provide guidance, support and connect patients and their families to resources that can help make daily life more manageable.

You may want to speak with a social worker if you have questions or concerns about:

  • Advance directives
  • Disability assistance
  • Financial concerns or assistance
  • Home support services, including home care or private caregivers
  • Insurance and coverage questions
  • Referrals to additional supportive resources
  • Transportation resources

Connect with a social worker

Patients and their family members or caregivers can connect with a social worker when needed, no referral is needed.  Contact the patient’s oncology nurse navigator or any member of their care team to get connected. Or call 262-928-5690 for support.
