ProHealth Care breaks ground for Mukwonago's first hospital

ProHealth Care held a ground-breaking ceremony on Feb. 6 for its newest hospital – Mukwonago’s first hospital.

ProHealth physicians and employees in Mukwonago joined with community leaders, donors and others to mark the official start of construction.

“Waukesha County is a wonderful place to live and work, and the people of ProHealth Care are privileged to care for our friends and neighbors here,” ProHealth Care CEO Susan Edwards said at the ceremony. “The project we’re celebrating today is part of our commitment to maintain a strong, vibrant and independent health care system that will provide outstanding care for people in Waukesha County and surrounding communities for many years to come.”

The construction of new space and the renovation of existing space will transform the ProHealth Mukwonago campus into a 24-bed hospital. It will offer a wide range of medical services in an environment designed to enhance healing and reduce stress. Local patients provided valuable input on the design of the facility.

The hospital will offer:

  • A team of providers representing primary care and more than 30 medical specialties

  • 24/7 emergency services

  • Inpatient and outpatient surgery

  • Advanced diagnostic imaging

  • Outpatient services

  • Laboratory services

  • UW Cancer Center at ProHealth Care

The new hospital is expected to open in 2020.
