ProHealth Care Foundation announces Walks for Cancer registration and team leader events

Registration is open for the 2020 ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer. The Walks for Cancer are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Field Park in Mukwonago, Fowler Park in Oconomowoc and Frame Park in Waukesha.

2020 ProHealth Walks for Cancer T-shirts.Anyone can register for the walks at ProHealthCare.org/WalksForCancer as an individual or team member.

Each year, the ProHealth Care Foundation organizes the Walks for Cancer to bring people together in support of cancer services at ProHealth Care. Funds raised for the walks have a profound impact on cancer patients and their families. The funds are used for clinical trials, lifesaving equipment and technology, and other needed services.

Team leader activities begin with optional kick-off open house events on Feb. 10, 11 and 12. Anyone planning to lead a Walks for Cancer team is invited to stop at a kick-off event to learn about the walks and view incentive prizes and T-shirts. Team leader packets will be available at each location. Registration for the kick-off events is not necessary.

Kick-off events will be held as follows:

  • Lake, River and ParkWalk for Cancer – on Feb. 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the UW Health Cancer Center at ProHealth Care in Pewaukee in the third-floor conference room.
  • LakeWalk for Cancer in Oconomowoc – on Feb. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital in Suite 103 of the Professional Office Building.
  • RiverWalk for Cancer in Waukesha – on Feb. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital in Lobby Room 4 (near the west entrance).
  • ParkWalk for Cancer in Mukwonago – on Feb. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at ProHealth Care’s Mukwonago campus in the second-floor conference room.

Teams will have the option of customizing team T-shirts with an image or text – such as a logo or name – on the shirt back for a $25 team fee. Artwork must be provided to the ProHealth Care Foundation by March 11. All team members who would like custom T-shirts must register for a walk by March 18. T-shirt pick-up will be available in mid-April.

Online registration, team and T-shirt information, walk maps, frequently asked questions and other information can all be found at ProHealthCare.org/WalksForCancer. Participants will save $5 by registering online. The online early registration fee of $20 per person is available Feb. 1 through March 18.

On May 2, same-day walk registration is $35 and begins at 8 a.m. at each walk site. Each walk is approximately two miles long on a paved surface.
