ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer ambassadors inspire others to support the events and local cancer services

The 2020 virtual ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer provide a way for people who want to get out and walk to support ProHealth's cancer program.

Every year, Walks for Cancer ambassadors inspire others to support the ProHealth Care Foundation's efforts to raise funds for cancer services. Jessica Storm and Jerry Hebert are this year's virtual walks ambassadors. Their stories can be found at ProHealthCare.org/Ambassadors.

Jessica's journey is one of resilience. Within two years, she has completed treatment for breast cancer, a brain tumor and melanoma.

"I have a career and I'm also a wife, a mom, a sister, a daughter," Jessica said. "I'm also a cancer patient. I've had to learn to balance these roles."

Jerry was treated for follicular lymphoma. He credits the treatment and support he received at ProHealth for helping him in his cancer journey.

"I was exposed to so many other people who also had cancer," Jerry said. "What stood out to me most was what they were willing to go through to fight that battle, to continue on. That was quite an inspiration."

Registration, donation and other information for the walks can be found at ProHealthCare.org/WalksforCancer. Walks for Cancer registrants also receive information by email. Walks T-shirts will be mailed to registrants.

The ProHealth Care Foundation will continue to accept contributions for the walks through May.

"We welcome Walks for Cancer participants to walk in a safe location of their choice at a time that works best for them,” said Paula Jacobs, director of philanthropy.
