ProHealth offers physical therapy and light therapy at its Brookfield location
ProHealth Care’s Rehabilitation Services has opened a new physical therapy gym and light therapy booth within the ProHealth Medical Group clinic in The Corridor complex at 195 Discovery Drive in Brookfield.
The gym is used to help treat physical therapy patients during scheduled visits with ProHealth rehabilitation professionals. The booth is used to provide narrowband ultraviolet phototherapy, or light therapy, for patients under the care of a dermatologist.
Physical therapy can help patients move more easily and fully, avoid opioids and other pain medications, recover from and prevent injuries, avoid surgery, and improve outcomes after surgery. It may be recommended for a variety of concerns, including:
- Aging-related issues
- Balance problems
- Back and neck pain
- Joint pain and stiffness
- Neurologic conditions, including stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease
- Sports injuries, including bursitis and tendonitis
Narrowband ultraviolet B phototherapy may be prescribed by a dermatologist for hard-to-treat skin conditions such as psoriasis, vitiligo or eczema. It is designed to slow the growth of affected skin cells and decrease inflammation.
Physical therapy and light therapy at the Brookfield location are currently provided from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by calling 262-928-9600.
The Corridor complex is along Bluemound Road just west of Calhoun Road. ProHealth Medical Group providers offer a range of medical services, including dermatology and urgent care, on the first floor of the clinic.
ProHealth also offers rehabilitation services in Brookfield, Hartland, Mukwonago, Muskego, New Berlin, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee and Waukesha.
