More than 2,000 people joined the ProHealth Walks for Cancer to support local services

On May 3, more than 2,000 people participated in the ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer events in Mukwonago, Oconomowoc and Waukesha. There were 132 teams along with individuals, friends and families who came out to support ProHealth Care’s cancer services.

Walk ambassadors — Briana Stover, Gail Boenning and Kyla Wenger — helped kick off the events and energize the crowds with their powerful messages of hope. They also emphasized the importance of high-quality, accessible care, close to home.

The ProHealth Care Foundation has raised more than $8 million through the walks since 1997. All funds raised remain in Waukesha County.

Proceeds from the events support:

  • Groundbreaking research aimed at improving survival rates, enhancing quality of life, and expanding effective treatment options for cancer patients.
  • Comprehensive support services for patients and families, including counseling, financial aid, and the Thriving program, which addresses appearance-related side effects.
  • Continued education for patients and the cancer care team, including our survivor-focused educational series.
  • Investment in the latest technology and lifesaving medical equipment.

Nearly 120 volunteers, ranging from age 6 to 86, assisted at the three walk locations and helped ensure the events ran smoothly.
