Jul 09, 2017

Janet Turner, MD, Gynecologic Oncologist

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted disease. Nearly everyone is exposed to it during their lifetime. If vaccinated between age 9 and 11, individuals are better able to fight off disease from the virus. The vaccine helps guard women against cervical cancer and men from male reproductive tract cancers. The vaccine is safe and effective and can be administered by a primary care provider.
