Boardwalk Restoration

After two decades, the AngelsGrace boardwalk was showing signs of wear. We are grateful for the Ruehlow Family’s lead gift for restoration and also, as construction costs grew, to Dick and Karen Bertrand and the Snyder Family, who contributed, just as they had in 2008 with the original boardwalk. The restoration included board replacement, re-staining and railing repair. The boardwalk offers a place for patients and visitors to be close to nature and features a 300-foot, wheelchair-accessible walkway along the shore of a spring-fed pond.

Angels Among Us

Volunteers are the absolute heart and soul of AngelsGrace Hospice. Recognizing this, friends of long-time hospice volunteer and supporter Gina White donated a beautiful sculpture to AngelsGrace in her honor and to recognize all AngelsGrace volunteers. Sincere thanks to this thoughtful group of in-kind donors, as well as to the volunteers and friends who inspired them. Volunteers, who number in the hundreds, are present daily, providing dignified care and comfort to patients and their families.

Music Therapy – A Patient Story

We are thankful to many individuals and organizations who contribute funds to support our hospice music therapy program each year. One story strengthens our commitment. A young mother of two boys didn’t want her death in their home to be her legacy. She worked with the hospice music therapist to record her reading the boys’ favorite book while the therapist played their favorite song. Their dad plays the recording every night so the legacy will always be the sound of her voice reading to her children.
